Hidden Treasures of Florida will showcase great cultural activities, places to visit, and historic sites that are unique to the State of Florida. This proposed series will take the audience on a magical mystery tour to all the regions of the Sunshine State as they discover that Florida is not just theme parks, beaches, and cruise ship terminals. There’s so much more to explore and enjoy! Hidden Treasures of Florida will cover the state by focusing each episode on one region, county or city, such as the Space Coast, Sanibel Island, St. Augustine, Tampa Bay, the Keys, and all places North, South, East and West.

This half-hour episode will serve as the pilot for Hidden Treasures of Florida and will be used to build excitement and garner interest in making this new series a reality. The series is designed to inform Floridians and out-of-state visitors of the many hidden cultural treasures Florida has to offer that they may not be aware of – places and activities that they can enjoy and share with family and friends. Through the internet, this series can be accessed worldwide by people interested in learning more about Florida, especially tourists planning to visit the state and looking for a variety of things to do and places to see.

The following is a brief description of the proposed 30-minute television pilot that will be used as a proof-of-concept to launch the series, Hidden Treasures of Florida:

This half-hour pilot will focus on the Treasure Coast’s City of Vero Beach and its surrounding communities – a safe haven for turtles. It will shine a spotlight on some of the many arts and cultural activities, which may include the Environmental Learning Center, Vero Beach Museum of Art, McKee Botanical Garden, Riverside Theatre, Mel Fisher’s Treasure Museum Sebastian, Citrus Museum, and National Navy SEAL Museum Fort Pierce, to name a few.
